Charlotte is a fully qualified Gestalt counsellor with experience in the NHS and the third sector. She completed her training at The Gestalt Centre, London. Gestalt is a humanistic therapy, which means the client’s needs and wellbeing are at the heart of the work.

Empathy and warmth are key to her practice. Making her clients feel seen, heard, and understood is what moves and motivates her.

Her practice is anti-racist, LGBTQIA+ inclusive, and GSRD (Gender, Sexual, and Relationship Diversity) inclusive.

Alongside her private work, Charlotte recently spent a year volunteering as a counsellor for The Brain Tumour Charity. Through this work, she regularly supported clients experiencing grief, including anticipatory grief; anxiety, including health anxiety; and chronic physical health symptoms impacting their mental wellbeing.

Sophie adopts an integrative and collaborative approach to counselling and psychotherapy, drawing on different psychotherapeutic modalities to tailor therapy to each client’s needs.

Grounded in the humanistic tradition in psychotherapy, she sees her clients as “experts” on their own experience and as individuals with inherent worth, free will, and inner capacities for growth. The mind-body connection informs her approach, and she may use body-oriented interventions. Since working at Streatham Osteopaths, she has developed an interest in working with chronic physical discomfort or pain without an identified bio/medical cause.

Sophie welcomes adults from all social, ethnic, cultural and spiritual backgrounds, and offers sessions in person and online, in English or French.

She is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, has qualifications in integrative counselling and psychotherapy (PGDip/MA), Internal Family Systems therapy (Levels 1 & 2), and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (Level 1).
